Travel often. Discover yourself.

Travel is always where I find perspective, and this summer took me to two very different places: Sevilla and Japan.
Sevilla is my heart’s home. Returning there this summer, I found myself welcomed into my friend’s country home with a room of my own—a sign that I truly belong. I love the chaos: the missed connections, the surly RENFE train attendants, the train mishaps that can bring the entire country to a standstill. Sevilla is alive, messy, and loud, and to me, that is its magic. It feels like family.
Then there was Japan: the complete opposite. In Japan, trains run on time, and if they don’t, there are heartfelt apologies. Efficiency and order are woven into everyday life. I marveled at the technology, from breakfast lines with arrows guiding your direction to the legendary toilets that warm, cleanse, and even disguise sound. It was fascinating and deeply impressive. And yet, while I loved it for what it was, I realized something important: I need Sevilla’s chaos. I thrive in it. The contrast between the two places reminded me that travel is about more than destinations—it’s about discovering where you truly feel at home. And for me, that lesson makes every trip worth taking.
